Mariana Lavezzo

Principal, Sr. Educational Planner, Conceptual Design Lead

Mariana Lavezzo, ALEP, LEED AP, is a Principal, Senior Educational Planner, and Conceptual
Lead at RSSC, where she focuses on the early planning phases of educational projects. She
holds a Master of Architecture from UCLA and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in
Psychological, Social, and Cultural Factors in Architecture, from UC Berkeley.

With thirty years of experience, Mariana specializes in equity-centered educational planning,
long-range facilities master planning, educational specifications, design guidelines, and
community engagement. Her work centers students, educators, families, and communities as
experts in their lived experiences, translating their insights into shared visions and actionable
facilities strategies.

Mariana has led and contributed to learning environment projects for public school districts and
private schools across California and internationally. She is a frequent conference presenter on
inclusive planning, outdoor learning, and student-centered learning environments, and has
served on both the A4LE Northern California and Southern California Boards.

Her commitment to community-centered work is reflected in her teaching experience, including
design-build work supporting young people transitioning out of foster care. Throughout her
career, Mariana has advocated for aligning learning environments with educational goals while
integrating nature, sustainability, and wellness from the earliest stages of planning.
