Dr. Aaron McVean is a lifelong educator committed to the role that community colleges play in improving the lives of students and the communities from which they come. As the Vice Chancellor of Educational Services and Planning for the San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD), Dr. McVean is responsible for the development implementation of strategy and programs that are explicit in their purpose to promote student success, equity, and social justice. As Vice Chancellor, he actively works to scale innovative practices through resource development and fundraising in order to improve achievement and completion rates for all community college students. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, program evaluation, research, and institutional effectiveness.
