Career Opportunities

Operations & Administrative Support Consultant

We are seeking a part-time Operations & Administrative Support Consultant (1099 independent contractor) to provide project-based operations and administrative support services to our COO and project teams. The consultant will manage their own time, tools, and methods for completing the work, while meeting mutually agreed-upon deliverables and timelines.

Engagement Terms

  • Contractor Status : Independent contractor (1099); not an employee of RSSC and not eligible for employee benefits

  • Hours : Project-based engagement, up to but not to exceed 25 hours per week on average

  • Compensation :  $25/hour, invoiced monthly; total compensation not to exceed $3,000/month absent a written amendment

  • Schedule :  Flexible, mostly remote schedule, plus some event-based availability for virtual and occasional in-person support

  • Location :  Willing and able to attend occasional on-site meetings with RSSC in the Bay Area as needed

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Calendar and scheduling coordination for meetings and events

  • Administrative and operational coordination for active projects

  • Virtual workshop and training support via Zoom, including setup and follow-up

  • Facilities planning and community engagement logistics support

  • In-person event logistics support (as needed, with advance notice)

  • General coordination and communication support related to RSSC projects

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

  • Proven experience managing calendars, scheduling, and logistical coordination

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects independently

  • Proficiency with Zoom and other virtual meeting or collaboration platforms

  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong client service mindset and ability to interact with diverse stakeholders

  • Resourceful, solutions-oriented problem-solving skills

  • Reliable access to phone and email; able to respond within 24 hours on business days

  • Able to work effectively under pressure, tight deadlines, and shifting priorities
