Dr. Dwayne Hunt

As an equity-minded leader, Dr. Dwayne A Hunt (Dalexh) aims for transformational change. He believes that a college's purpose must be linked with community needs to achieve the most significant impact for students and their families.
Dr. Hunt was a first-generation college student and obligingly credits his career path from this experience. Dr. Hunt earned a Master's from the University of Mississippi and a Doctorate in Higher Education from Northeastern University.
After securing his Master's, he proudly served as a part-time faculty, academic advisor, retention specialist and Dir. Student Life at Miami Dade Community College, Homestead Campus, where he organized various events that were tailored for the campus's diverse student population.
His work experience as Palm Beach State (Community) College's Assistant Dean for Student Services, Harrisburg Area Community College's Associate Dean for Academics, and Dean of Enrollment at Lebanon campus and Virtual Learning created deep connections and respect with students and professionals. He served as the Dean for Academic Support within the Student Services Division at Solano Community College and co-chaired the Student Equity and Success Council. He also served as Vice President of Student Services at Yuba College, where he co-chaired the district Inclusive, Diversity, Equity and Action (IDEA)Committee. Dalexh's philosophical approach embodies a vision that colleges should avail equity-centered initiatives designed for the retention and persistence of students toward the fulfillment of their academic and life goals.
